This project is aimed at helping people to prepare themselves to get back into the workplace. We offer various taster sessions, confidence building, help with CV’s, getting to use the Universal JobMatch website and much more. Drop in Tuesdays to Thursdays 10am – 4pm and we’ll get you started!
Money Advice
We offer a professional and confidential service to anyone in the community who feel they may benefit from talking financial matters through in confidence or would like help with debt or other money worries. Computers and UK Online
Here we can help you face your fears and give you the skills you need to use the internet for paying bills, shopping, research and surfing the web. We are also able to offer basic computer skills training, from beginner level up to preparing you for college. Drop in Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm.
ESOL
We have developed flexible teaching strategies to help you learn English at Riversway. We offer English language courses to meet the needs of all learners, from beginners to advanced and those with specific learning difficulties. Drop in and see us! We can prepare you for English examinations or improve your English to meet the requirements of your employers. We specialise in teaching ESOL at all levels. All our teachers hold internationally recognised qualifications.
TESOL
At Riversway English Language Centre you can learn how to teach English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). We are currently the only centre to offer the INTESOL Certificate in TESOL by blended learning – home study with e-mentoring and 10 three hour sessions of face to face intensive teaching with micro-teaching practice. If you have a group of three or more and would like a course specially customised for you, please contact us. We do try to make the course as flexible as possible, so please contact us if you would like to discuss how we may help you.
Homework Club
Children and young people are encouraged to bring their homework and receive assistance and supervision from experienced and qualified teachers who have all been Police and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and cleared. Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm – 5pm.
Youth Activities
Friday Nights – Term time 7.00pm till 9.30pm. Xstream Youth for 11 -16’s. Cool activities and hang out with your mates! Tuck shop and discos too.
Tuesday Nights– Term time 7.00pm till 9.00 Delta for 16 -18’s. A chance to chat and chill, a laid back mood.
Happitots
Fun activities for the very young. Parents and carers are invited to bring their 0-4 year olds to our sessions on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 11:30.
Natterbox
On your own at lunch times in the week? Why not pop in Monday to Friday and have a natter over soup and a roll or a sandwich? All welcome 12.30 – 1.15pm
